That is a known issue with the dated Mental Ray plugin installer. I have a 32GB WIndows 10, 3ds max system. Apparently, the bit and bit versions of Max do not use the same default port settings, but this is easily fixed by changing it in the Distributed Rendering rollout on the Process tab. I just upgraded my primary computer to Win 7 Pro 64 and the bit version of 3ds Max Design After the bit upgrade, I couldn’t get the satellites to work anymore.Īfter much research and flailing around, I finally traced it to a rayhosts port mismatch between the server and the satellites. Will it work with 32 bit on my “render nodes”? Message 5 of 7. I will be rendering from 64 bit and distributing to 32 bit machines. Planning for both but focus is on DBR for now. You will have to install Max on the render nodes. What type of net-rendering do you want to do, Backburner, mr DBR or both? Which version will you be rendering from, both? You will need the same version installed on all participating machines, they don’t have to be licensed to just render. Mental ray satellite for autodesk 3ds max 2014 64-bit free download
